Happy Easter!

Every day we watch the news and I end up feeling depressed after hearing how the number of people who have lost their lives in our country during this pandemic has grown.

We don't like death. I can assure you that I have not enjoyed watching my tulip dry up day after day. I inevitably wait until the time comes when there is nothing left but the remaining seed, buried until next year. Even so, this flower keeps on giving me hope. Jesus promised that death for those who hope in Him is only one step closer towards a better existence.

Today, Easter Sunday, we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord; a day of joy and hope for Christians. During this celebration, we also recognize that Jesus was just the first to be resurrected. In the same way that my tulip will come to life next year, Jesus has promised that one day we will rise with Him. This is not a fairy tale. It is the basis of our faith. It is the foundation of our hope. For He lives, and thus we shall also live. So our priority at this time should be to spread, share and proclaim in age and those to come, that Jesus has risen and offers salvation and forgiveness of sins to all who believe in Him.
