So much to be noticed!
Today I visited the doctor’s office and found out I would need another test to find cause of some hip pain. While thankful to get closer to help for it, I wanted the answer now!
On the way home my husband Chris and I stopped at a fruit market. Using a walker I looked around at flowers and other things with him before entering the store. I had to stop often and sit down on the seat of the walker to relieve hip pain. Inside the market after getting a few peaches, I sat down again while Chris got a few more things. A new experience for me, waiting for him and watching other people shop, rather than being able to look around myself. Seated, I looked above the fruit and vegetable displays and saw artwork I’d never noticed before. There were farm tools hanging from the ceiling and even a monkey swinging above the bananas!
Later, at home I started reading Psalm 95, seeking some comfort from God. The first verses invited, “Come, let us sing…” Didn’t feel like that! At the same time I looked out the window and saw clouds and blue sky. I was reminded of the new things I could appreciate by looking up while in the fruit market. More thoughts came. God created that ever-changing sky. Beauty enough that Psalms say that the heavens declare the glory of God. The invitation to sing for joy to the Lord in Psalm 95 seemed to be saying, “Look up!” Look beyond my circumstances by faith.
God, You are always inviting me to remember who You are. You’re the One who gives me salvation through Jesus Christ's death and resurrection. And you give me hope beyond the circumstances I am facing, however long they may last. Thank you for peace of heart and for beauty to enjoy.
