Tomasa,

85 years old, lived alone in an old and cold apartment in the center of the city. With her widow's pension, she faced with difficulty the expenses of her home, which involved rent, electricity and diesel in winter. Heating such a cold and humid place was not easy, so despite her age, for years Tomasa was forced to do some cleaning work to save enough to put on the heating in the colder months.

In addition, she had had a few episodes of arrhythmias, and living alone was a burden that grew heavier as night fell.

to stop worrying about making ends meet. She doesn’t have to be cold anymore. She lives in what for her is a palace, and she is not afraid of getting sick because she is not alone and her companions can help her in case of need.

Isabel

lived in a small town with an single son who she worried about constantly. He suffered from considerable depression and needed contact with people to help lift her spirit.

having sisters nearby with whom to share her burdens and who can pray for her and encourage her concerns.

She has the freedom to live in community without feeling like she is a burden to anyone.

María Jesús

lived in an apartment with a daughter and a grandson in very difficult conditions. She felt responsible for getting everyone up, but she needed help organizing her resources and managing them responsibly.

to get practical help with managing her money. She has not had to despair when she did not have enough work, because the association has covered her expenses up to where it was necessary, and she has had help to solve innumerable issues of paperwork and administrative procedures.

She is not alone and has the protection of the association behind her in the issues she has to face.
 

The apartment is based in Béjar and we have recently celebrated 1 year since its inauguration.

 

We do activities for our women and others outside.

The apartment has room for 4 women, a full equipped kitchen, and its surroundings are peaceful.
